The Gospel According to Velvet Hellraiser
Sacred, feminine, and a little bit wrong.
I'm Chloe. I was always very creative, and came up as a Fashion Photographer and Graphic Designer in my early career. When I eventually expanded my creativity to something of my own and found painting, I melded all those worlds together to create Velvet Hellraiser, my very own horrifying Barbie dream-house.
In 2024 I completed my MA in Illustration and never quite came back down from it. I paint in oils, photograph the things I'm obsessed with, and take second-hand leather and lovingly destroy them until they're one-of-a-kind, wearable blasphemy.
My gospel is simple: Catholic iconography and horror married to hyper-pink bimbo culture.
My oils pull from the survival horror and cult cinema that raised me. Everything here is unholy, scary, sexy, a little stupid, and feminine.
